Undeep
So, I keep getting ideas for good posts. Pithy topics about which I feel most passionate, but I always decide to refrain from posting them and put up pictures of Spike or favorite lists instead. I never feel like I have desire or energy for a big political or otherwise provocative post. Does this make me terribly shallow?

No. Political posts and the like take a lot of energy if a comment war gets started. Personally, on something I have passion over, I CAN NOT let it go until the other person stops posting. Case and point, the 27 comment post on my blog. Your blog is fun with the posts of Spike and such. Not shallow at all.
I love the posts you have here on your blog. The Spike stuff is awesome, and I enjoy the other quirky stuff too. Laughed my ass off at the subversive cross-stitch site. If I had to choose between reading something heavily political or something mostly funny, I'd pick the funny one everytime.
On my drive home yesterday, I made up a mental list of places I'd like to live and why. Here they are:
1. Arizona, because they don't have daylight savings time.
2. Australia, because they don't have pennies.
3. San Diego, so I could start my own avocado farm, hire dirt cheap immigrant workers, and gorge myself on that delicious fruit all day long.
What do you think? -kd
Well, KD and NH, thank you for your kind words.
As for your list of places to live, KD, Australia would be fun to visit, but I don't think I could get used to the opposite seasons. That would freak me out. Nor could I possibly get used to the subversive toilet water rotation. That is, in fact, why I have never visited. I don't know how they stand it.
San Diego would be neat, but I'd worry about earthquakes and gang violence, especially if they happened concurrently. Plus, I have a secret belief that California does not actually exist, but is a great conspiracy.
So, of the three, I'd go with Arizona. While I'm not as concerned about Daylight Savings Time, I think, overall, Arizona has the best possible chance for fun, scenic Jeep driving and gorgeous night skies. And cowboys. And safe, non-radical toilet water. The proximity to Las Vegas is excellent. One must take Las Vegas proximity into account when making any kind of decision. I do, even when deciding what to have for dinner. I also try to eat dinner in the closest possible location (within my house) to Las Vegas. So far, this practice has served me well. So, yeah, Arizona.
Woah, I didn't do much research on the other customs of my favorite listed places. Australia has weird seasons and toilets? That's definitely out then. But I think the only other country that doesn't use pennies is New Zealand. There's no way I'm living there, so I guess I'll just have to live with the coppers.
Ah, so you have a kind of Las Vegasian feng shui going on in your house. Very cool. I've never been there, but you can't argue with the vast number of people who love it. Well, you could, but that would be ... weird.
I was hoping for your list of favorite places to live, since you were talking about favorite lists in your original post. -kd
I'm not all that into Vegas, but I know what's good for me. lol I'll give some thught to my own list of favorite places and post them soon.
