Roll Over, Jane
Lorna, Kelly, I hope you two noticed that Kiera Knightley was nominated for an Oscar for Pride and Prejudice. Even you two agreed that she did not deserve this much. I have decided that if she wins, I will move to Hollywood and make an Oscar-winning career out of insipid grinning. Because, apparently, you can do that now. Oh, the pain.

Yeah, it's BS just like 99% of everything dealing with the Oscars. She did a lot of glancing in the movie too, so don't forget to add that into your repertoire when you go for your big break in Hollywood.
Any movies you thought should've been nominated that weren't? I'm upset that Tom Wilkinson didn't get a nom for Batman Begins or The Exorcism of Emily Rose. He was outstanding in both roles.
Secretly, I'm pleased for her. Poor thing, with that figure and those cheekbones, she ought not to expect much from life. And she is winsome. That's gotta count for something.
I don't think critics will even look twice at a comic book or horror movie. Certain genres are looked down upon, even as the quality improves every year. BB transcended the things that make superheroes hard for "normal" people to relate to even more than the Spider-man movies did. It was solid character development, and we don't even SEE him in costume for at least an hour.
I have to see Emily Rose, still. I know I labelled it horror, but someone told me the trailers were misleading and it's more of a courtroom drama. It wasn't marketed that way though, so the academy probably wouldn't even consider it.
Shameless but on-topic plug for the Myclofigs...nominate your favorite 2005 films. =)
