Anyone who puts James Marsters and Bruce Campbell in a favorite top ten anything is A-OK in my book.
Why do they do so few projects? Oh well, Bubba Ho-Tep can hold me over 'til Marsters' MacBeth comes out ...
Anonymous, you and I may be two of the five people who saw Bubba Ho-Tep! I actually watched Marsters in a guest role on some awful show called "The Mountain" last night. It was freaky seeing him all de-Spiked. As for his MacBeth, I may need to get some new sunglasses. I don't want to look at that directly without protection against the ovewhelming awesome.
1:00 AM on a Friday night struggling with a bout of insomnia. Perfect time to watch Bubba Ho-Tep!
Hail to the King, Baby!!!
Oh, dangit! I meant to watch The Mountain last night but forgot. Don't know why he'd want to be on the horrible show that replaced Angel anyway, but I guess he has his reasons.
Have you seen the cover art work for the Season 5 Angel DVD? I'm normally not one to go weak-kneed for Hollywood types, but, *swoon*.
Ah, well, we now know three people who saw Bubba Ho-tep, there's still 2 lurking out there somewhere. Didn't it win a Sundance award of some sort? Nice to see a good freaky movie get recognized, instead of the horrendeous freaky movies that usually come out of that festival. -kd
Yeah, I have seen the cover art. Like you, I'm very disinclined to get all swoony, but for cryin' out loud, I'm only human. At least I think so.
You really didn't miss anything re: The Mountain. What an awful show! And they gave our James such a dumbass role, too. I could SWEAR that he was accidentally slipping back into the English accent from time to time. He clearly did a Spikey "innit?". Still, he was the rose among thorns. Lovely as always.
NH, you saw Bubba? Did you like it? After about 15 minutes, I didn't think I'd make it through. It seemed so dank and depressing, but then it got all compelling, and found myself sitting there, slackjawed, for the whole movie. My friend asked me what it was about and I just said, "Uh... Ummmm... Yeah."
Yeah, I did enjoy it. It was partly the mood I was in. It wasn't a "good" movie, but it was enjoyable. It falls under the "Guilty Pleasure" movies, like Kill Bill Vol. 1. Elvis and Kennedy fighting a soul-sucking mummy. How much more can an insomniac ask??? HA!
